Lucy — ADOPTED!

lucydaneLucy is 12 months old and weighs 75 lbs. She was dumped at the pound because her owner said she kept jumping up on him and we believe she is a Great Dane mix. Lucy is very active, so she will require a home with a fenced yard. We also hope she will have another dog her size to play with, because she loves to run and play. She is also very respectful in the house; Lucy loves to snuggle on the couch and even slept in bed with us upon arrival!

UPDATE: Lucy was adopted mid-September by a very sweet family with two kids and a 12-month old Great Dane named Bruno. Their little boy was feeling under the weather so he could not make the trip to meet Lucy. Since Lucy definitely needed to be placed with another dog with lots of energy, I think this was the perfect match. We will miss her snuggling but are so happy she has a new family to cuddle with!

    Hello,
My husband and I would like to adopt a dog and I came across Lucy on your site. We have an almost 2 year old male black lab. He loves other dogs, so much so that we feel he would do even better with another dog. He does really well at camp and at the homes of others with dogs. We also have almost 8 year old twins. We had a Rottweiler who passed away, but we are familiar and comfortable with large and strong dogs. The only trouble is we don’t have a fenced in yard. Is that a deal breaker with Lucy?

    Thank you for your time.

Do you adopt your dogs out of state? Currently have a Mastador Half English Mastiff and Half English Labrador shes 116 pounds will be 3 in January looking to get her a partner to keep her company need a dog closer to her size, she has no idea how big she is oh and needs to get along with the cat too although I often have to rescue her from our Mastador because she thinks her paws are hands and the cat does not like that. All in good fun. We live in Florida and have a fenced yard.

We have a 14 month old male mastiff 165lbs and a 5 yr beagle/hound rescue 65 lbs . Tank the EM loves to play and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. Brutus the rescue usually just needs a little time to warm up. He and Tank chase each other thru the house or play tug of war. Brutus can hold his own believe it or not. We are looking for a happy friendly gentle giant to add to the mix and Lucy sounds great. Only problem is we live about 40 miles west of Philadelphia.

What is Lucy mixed with? I just thinks she’s adorable!! Is she fixed? We just put our Rotty/boxer, Ruby to sleep bc she had cancer. Our hearts are broken. She was only 8 years old. We were going to wait until spring, but I miss companionship. We bought a new home 3 years ago and put up a beautiful fence so Ruby could have the backyard as a playground to protect. We have 2 grandchildren that visit and love to play with our dog and they are very gentle. Any details are appreciated.

We donot have a fenced in yard but we live on 200+ acres of camp land in Putnam county NY. I am one of the directors and work/live at the camp. We have 2 dogs Irish (16 1/2) and Duke (6). We walk them regularly (approx 5-6xs per day). Growing up I had a Great Dane mix that looked just like Lucy. His name was Blackie and to be honest he was my best friend till I was 19. I still miss him terribly. I understand if she must have a fenced yard – but if in anyway we may be eligible I’d love to see if she can get along with my two guys.
    Than you

I am looking for a larger dog one that will be 28-30 inches at the shoulder for a service dog. I do not need a puppy. Am looking for someone in the 16 to 18 month range. Do you think that she jumps up on people or was that just an excuse. I live in Indiana. Please let me know where she is and you opinion of her for this position.

I was wondering where Lucy is and what the total caust of adopting her would be. I had a St.Bernard mastic cross dog who is now twelve and my kids want another puppy so they still have a dog when he passes away. I live on 40acres in the mountain and my oldests sons dog comes to visit so I need a dog friendly dog.
